Thompson reported to Bradley during the summer of 2007 carrying just 175 pounds on his 6-foot, 10-inch frame ... Entering his fifth year, "Sticks" is carrying 50 more pounds on his frame.
2010-11 - Junior
Enjoyed his most significant game as a Brave, 15 minutes with four points and seven rebounds Nov. 17 versus Loyola Marymount, and followed with 13 impactful minutes Nov. 20 versus USC ... Blocked 15 shots in his last 17 games.
2009-10 - Sophomore
Averaged 8.0 minutes per game in Bradley's 3-man center rotation ... More than doubled his career Missouri Valley Conference minutes by playing 12 in his 2009-10 MVC debut Jan. 3 at Wichita State.
2008-09 - Freshman
Made his official debut Nov. 16 at #19 Florida by playing the final minute of the game ... Saw his most extensive action Dec. 14 by playing 11 minutes against Southeast Missouri State ... Pulled down a season-best five rebounds in just seven minutes Dec. 20 at Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
2007-08 - Redshirt
Redshirted the 2007-08 season, becoming the first Bradley player to voluntarily redshirt since Adebayo Akinkunle sat out the 1993-94 season as a true freshman.
At Klein Forest H.S.
After averaging 10 points and seven rebounds per game as a junior, Thompson was rated as the 26th best senior in the state of Texas by Scout.com and the 103rd nationally by Basketball Today prior to his senior season ... Playing on a team with four other players to earn NCAA Division I scholarships, Thompson averaged 13 points and eight rebounds during his senior season in 2007-08 ... Earned first-team All-District 16-5A honors in 2007 while helping Klein Forest High School to a 25-6 record and the district championship.
Houston, He's No Longer a Problem
Anthony Thompson was born in Jacksonville, Fla., but after a run of poor behavior resulted in time at a juvenile center at age seven, his father, Dennis, ultimately moved him to Houston, Texas at 10 years old.
Anthony points to this move as a life-changing event. Although Anthony admits he still got into trouble shortly after the move, his father quickly put a halt to his bad behavior. As a result, Thompson began making straight A's in school and excelled in sports.
"All of this made me who I am today," Anthony said, "a successful man who is making something out of my life."
Personal
The son of Dennis and Marcie Thompson, Anthony was born July 27, 1988 in Jacksonville, Fla. ... The oldest of three siblings, Anthony's brothers are Johnathan Wilson (22) and Alex Wilson (19) ... Johnathan played wide receiver at Kansas and was a member of the 2008 Orange Bowl team.
