At Bradley
? One of three seniors on the 2007-08 Bradley squad, Salley is a transfer from Monroe (N.Y.) College and helped The Bronx school to the 2006 NJCAA Division I national tournament and a school-record 33 victories during his sophomore season.
? Was forced to see a good deal of time at center last season, but with added depth in the post this year, Salley likely will see more time at his more natural “4” position.
? A strong rebounder and post defender, Salley also has good shooting range to 15 feet and can occassionally venture out beyond the 3-point line.
? Scored in double-figures in nine of 16 midseason games, including a career-high tying 18 points Jan. 18 at Creighton.
? Salley was the team’s second-leading rebounder (4.8 rpg) and the most consistent interior defender last season.
? Turned in three impressive defensive performances in the postseason in matchups against the UNI front line combo of Grant Stout and Eric Coleman in the MVC Tournament quarterfinals, followed by a meeting with SIU’s Randal Falker in the semifinals and the imposing Providence front line in the opening round of the NIT.
Before Bradley
? Salley began his college career at Central Florida Community College, but played only seven games to start the 2004-05 season before transferring to Monroe College in The Bronx.
? A native New Yorker, Salley excelled in the more comfortable surroundings, helping his new team reach the 2006 NJCAA Division I national tournament and a school-record 33 wins.
? Averaged 13.2 points and 8.8 rebounds during his sophomore season, earning spots on the NJCAA Region XV First Team, as well as the Region XV and national all-tournament teams.
? Salley’s uncle, Virgil Smiley, played on the 1997-98 Monroe College team that played in the NJCAA national championship game.
? As a high school senior, Salley helped North Mecklenburg to a 21-6 record and a Sweet 16 run in the North Carolina 4A state tournament.
? After listing Providence College among the schools he as considering coming out of junior college, Salley contributed nine points, five rebounds, two blocked shots and two steals in Bradley’s NIT first-round win against the Friars last year at Carver Arena.

I wear #22 for the Braves because: I’ve always worn #22 because not many people wear that number.
Describe your game and how it will help the Braves: My game is more than one-dimensional. I can put the ball on the floor, knock down the jumper, pass and play with my back to the basket. I think my game will help the Braves, because I am so versatile and very unselfish ... I love to pass the ball.
When I was growing up, I never thought I would: Go to college
Most advice to youngsters is: Stay focused and never give up on your dreams.
