Austin was the seventh player to commit to Bradley’s 2007 recruiting class, signing with the Braves April 24 following his sophomore season at Northeastern Junior College ... Austin helped Northeastern to a seventh-place finish in the 2007 NJCAA Division I national tournament ... Averaged 13.3 points and 7.9 rebounds per game during his sophomore season, helping him earn first-team NJCAA All-Region IX honors ... Led the Plainsmen to the national tournament by contributing 29 points and seven rebounds in Northeastern’s 79-72 win against Northwest Wyoming in the semifinals of the Region IX tournament, followed by 14 points and 11 boards in the 90-77 victory against Casper in the championship game ... One of two players to start all 34 games during Northeastern’s 2005-06 season, Austin averaged 8.6 points and 5.3 rebounds during his freshman season ... Helped Northeastern to a 62-6 (.912) record during his two junior college seasons.
