Youth Academies | Sockers FC, Chicago Fire, and Nashville SC
Liam began his youth academy career with Sockers FC Chicago, where he spent two seasons from 2018–19 before earning a move to the Chicago Fire Academy. During his first stint with the Fire, he competed from the U13 through U17 levels from 2020–23. He then transferred to his second MLS academy, Nashville SC, in 2024, where he completed the 2025 season. Before enrolling at Bradley, Healey returned to his boyhood club, Sockers FC Chicago, for the 2025–26 season.

Throughout his youth academy career, Healey received multiple U.S. Soccer Talent ID Training Center invitations. He is currently ranked as the No. 8 player in the Midwest Region by TopDrawerSoccer.com and was previously ranked as high as No. 3. In 2026, he helped Sockers FC Chicago capture the National Academy Championship at IMG. During his time with the Chicago Fire Academy, he also won an MLS NEXT league title while making multiple MLS NEXT Cup playoff appearances and multiple Generation Adidas Cup knockout-round appearances.


Personal
The son of Kevin and Amanda Healey, Liam Healey has two siblings (Dylan, Grayson, and Mateo). Liam previously spent five season in two different MLS Youth Academies spanning 2020-2025 with the Chicago Fire as well as a brief stint with Nashville SC in 2024. Liam Healey attended Wheaton Warrenville South as a freshman before moving to online learning via SAI Academy while balancing travel and time in various soccer academies.
