Former Oregon State standout Tarrah Beyster is in her second year as assistant softball coach at Bradley, after completing a stellar collegiate career in Corvallis, Ore. A four-time All-America honoree, Beyster works primarily with the pitchers, while assisting with the Braves recruiting efforts.

Beyster helped guide the Braves to a 29-29 overall record, marking the best record for the program since completing the 1995 season at 35-20-1.

Under Beyster’s tutelage, Kristy Brod earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors and was an honorable mention Valley scholar-athlete last year after leading the team in wins (14), ERA (2.19) and strikeouts (114).

Beyster continues to play professionally in the National Pro Fastpitch league as a member of the Arizona Heat.

A native of San Diego, Calif., Beyster completed a highly decorated collegiate career in 2000 and went on to tour during the summer of 2003, along with Bradley head coach Venus Taylor, to help promote the National Professional Fastpitch League.

A three-time honoree as the Female Athlete of the Year at Oregon State, Beyster holds 24 school records and is one of only two female student-athletes in any sport to have her number retired at Oregon State.

She holds school season records for RBI (44), home runs (16), base on balls (64), complete games (30), innings pitched (268.2), appearances (50), victories (28) and saves (6). In addition, Beyster owns career best totals in batting average (.382), RBI (143), home runs (52), base on balls (211) complete games (104), innings pitched (949.0), victories (91) and strikeouts (694).

Beyster ranks among the career leaders in NCAA history in several categories. Her 52 career home runs is tied for 14th in NCAA history, while her .686 slugging percentage is the 24th highest. She owned the career base on balls record following her career and her walk total still ranks third all time.

A four-time NFCA/Louisville Slugger All-American, Beyster was the Beavers’ first All-American since 1983 and was the first OSU softball player to earn first-team All-America Softball honors. During her career in Corvallis, Ore., she had a .382 batting average with 93 runs scored 223 hits, 143 RBI and a then NCAA record 211 walks to go along with a 1.72 career ERA. Beyster was a four-time All Pac-10 honoree and earned Pac-10 Pitcher of the Week honors seven times.

Named the NCAA Woman of the Year for the state of Oregon in 2000, Beyster helped lead the Beavers to their first-ever NCAA Regional Tournament appearance in 1999 and a return trip in 2000.

An Academic All-American and honors student, Beyster earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and minored in sociology at Oregon State. She served as an undergraduate coach during the 2001 season and was the head varsity softball coach at West Albany High School during the 2002-03 school year, prior to touring with the NPFL in the summer of 2003.

Beyster is a 1996 graduate of Chula Vista (Calif.) High School.
