Former Northern Illinois standout Kristin Wiener joined the Bradley women's basketball staff as Director of Operations in September 2012 and is in her third season on The Hilltop. Wiener served as a marketing assistant with the Minnesota Timberwolves & Lynx since December following a four-year professional playing career.

 

In 2013-14 the Braves had six players score better than 8.0 points per game for the first time in school history and made a school record and MVC high 512 free throws as Bradley scored a league-best 24.5 percent of its points from the charity stripe.  The 2013-14 season also saw the Braves play a school record 12 games decided by five points or less.  Bradley opened the season with a victory against Big Ten Conference foe Illinois and 2013-14 also included the team’s first sweep of I-74 rival Illinois State since 2002-03. 

 

During her first season with the Braves in 2012-13, Bradley posted the best home record (8-5) since 2009-10 and led the Missouri Valley Conference in scoring with a 71.3 points-per-game average.  The Braves ranked eighth in the nation in free throw percentage, shooting a school record 78.1 percent from the charity stripe and led the Valley in steals per game (10.4 per contest).  In addition, Bradley went 8-10 in MVC play for the team’s best league record since 2009-10, with the team going 7-4 to conclude the regular season.

 

A 2007 Northern Illinois graduate with degrees in corporate communication and public relations, Wiener played one year in Portugal and three years in Spain after graduation. Following her playing days she worked with the NBA's Minnesota Timberwolves and the Minnesota Lynx of the WNBA as a marketing assistant. In this role, Wiener helped promote single-game ticket sales through community events in addition to assisting with community promotional appearances.

 

In addition to playing professionally in Spain, Wiener served as a grade school basketball coach during her time in Zaragoza, Spain, where she also taught conversational english to students.

 

A native of Apple Valley, Minn., Wiener averaged 10.6 points and 5.5 rebounds per game during her four-year career at NIU. A third-team All-Mid American Conference pick as a senior after averaging 15.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per outing, she ranks 14th in career scoring at Northern Illinois in addition to ranking 14th in career rebounding. An honorable mention all-conference honoree as a junior, she led the Huskies in rebounding, field goal percentage and blocked shots each of her last two seasons in DeKalb, Ill.
