Drew Petersen

Drew Petersen joined the Bradley cross country/track & field teams as an assistant coach in August 2015 and is in his third year on The Hilltop.
 
In two years at Bradley, Petersen has helped the Braves to three cross country titles with the BU men winning its first two Missouri Valley Conference Championships in school history in 2015 and 2016 and the women completing the Bradley sweep in 2015.
 
On an individual level, Caitlin Busch claimed the 2015 MVC Cross Country Championship, while twin sister, Kristen, became the first Brave in 16 years to qualify for the NCAA Championship that same year. The following season, Michael Ward became the first BU man in program history to reach the national cross country championship, while Daniel Gagne earned All-America honors in the 1,500m run during the outdoor track season after qualifying for the NCAA Championship. Overall, a total of seven Braves have won individual titles with Petersen’s help in cross country and track.

A four-time letterwinner in both cross country and track at UC Davis, Petersen earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise biology in 2013. 

Petersen got his start in coaching at Davis High School in Davis, Calif., during the 2013-14 school year and spent two seasons as a graduate assistant on the cross country and track field coaching staff at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He helped lead the Mustangs to Big West Conference cross country titles for both the men and women during the 2013 season. 

Petersen earned his master’s degree in kinesiology from Cal Poly in 2015.
