Steve Tyler brings nearly 40 years of tennis coaching and playing experience into his tenth year on the Bradley Tennis staff as a volunteer assistant coach.

The father of Braves head coach Matt Tyler, Steve Tyler came to Bradley from Central College, where he coached the NCAA Division III Dutch men's and women's tennis teams for six years from 2009 until his retirement in 2014. In addition to 13 years of high school and college coaching experience, Tyler is a United States Professional Tennis Association certified teaching professional.

An accomplished player in his own right, Tyler played collegiately at the University of Iowa, where he graduated with honors in 1974. Among his numerous honors competing in sectional and national tournaments, Tyler earned a runner-up finish in the 2004 Inter-Mountain Sectional Men's 50 tournament.

In addition to his bachelor's degree from Iowa, Tyler earned his master's degree at the University of Northern Colorado.
