Biography

Career Notes: The Braves most experienced middle blocker, she is expected to challenge for a starting spot after playing in 31 matches last season ... Has continued to make progress offensively and defensively and should be one of the team’s top middles this fall.

 

Junior Season (2005): Started 23 of the 31 matches she played in ... Ranked second on the team with a 0.76 blocks per game average and her 10 block solos and 65 block assists were both third on the squad ... Averaged 0.81 blocks per game in Missouri Valley Conference play ... Had a career-high nine blocks (eight block assists) in a four-game victory against Southern Illinois and followed that with a season-best seven kills in a five-game win at DePaul ... Posted season-highs of seven digs and career-best three service aces against Missouri State.

 

Sophomore Season (2004): Appeared in the starting lineup in all but two matches and was one of just four players to see action in all 29 matches ... Averaged 1.04 kills per game and was second on the team with a 0.90 blocks per game average ... Was more efficient on offense in conference play, where she averaged 1.10 kills per game and owned a .275 hitting percentage ... Had a career high eight kills four times as a sophomore, including the match at Butler where she hit .667 (eight kills, no errors, 12 attacks) ... Posted a season high six digs in the season-ending victory against Northern Iowa ... Tallied a then career-best seven blocks against South Florida

 

Freshman Season (2003):  Started 16 of the 19 matches she appeared in while playing in 52 games ... Sat out the first 10 matches of the season before making her debut at Northern Illinois (Sept. 16) ... Posted a season-best six kills and .385 hitting percentage against Evansville ... Had a season-high 12 digs against SMS. 

 

High School: An all-around athlete, McFarland earned four letters in volleyball and basketball and was a three-year member of the soccer team at Quincy Notre Dame High School ... Second in school history in attack percentage, McFarland also ranks second in Raiders history with 377 career blocks and third with 724 career kills ... A two-time team captain, McFarland was a first-team all-area pick as a senior and garnered all-tournament honors at the Chicago Latin Tournament ... As a junior she earned first-team all-area and honorable mention all-state honors  ... Helped lead the Raider volleyball team to second place finishes in the IHSA Class A State Tournament in 1999 and 2001.

 

Club Competition: Played club volleyball with Gem City.
