Alicia Williams

Alicia Williams enters her fourth season as head coach of Bradley Volleyball in 2025, continuing to lead the Braves with a championship mindset and a nationally respected coaching pedigree.

In 2024, Williams guided Bradley to one of the most notable seasons of her tenure, leading the program to the largest jump from preseason to postseason Missouri Valley Conference poll finish in program history. The Braves finished 10-8 in Valley play, their best mark since 2021, and posted key non-conference wins as the team continued its upward trajectory under her leadership.

In her second season, Williams led Bradley to a 2023 CEFCU Invitational Championship, going 3-0 with victories over SIUE, Eastern Michigan, and IUPUI, while dropping just one set. That same year, the Braves also captured the Southern Indiana Tournament title with wins over Jacksonville State, Arkansas–Pine Bluff, and Southern Indiana.

In November 2023, Williams was inducted into the NJCAA Volleyball Hall of Fame, honoring her decorated coaching career prior to arriving at Bradley.

She was named the 10th head coach in program history in January 2022 following a dominant nine-year run at Iowa Western Community College, where she led the Reivers to back-to-back NJCAA Division I National Championships in 2020-21 and 2021. Under her leadership, Iowa Western posted a 335-44 (.884) record, with four top-three national finishes, and placed in the top seven nationally every season. Williams is a two-time NJCAA National Coach of the Year, eight-time NJCAA District Coach of the Year, and three-time AVCA Midwest Region Coach of the Year. She was also named ICCAC Coach of the Year in eight of her nine seasons. During her tenure, Iowa Western produced two NJCAA National Players of the Year, 19 NJCAA All-Americans, eight conference players of the year, and 30 all-region selections. Over 25 student-athletes from her program went on to play NCAA Division I volleyball, including former Brave Alissa Schovanec (2017–18).

Williams also served two seasons as an assistant coach at Iowa Western (2011–12), helping the program to back-to-back top-five NJCAA finishes with a combined 90-12 record.

As a student-athlete, she won a NJCAA National Championship in 2006 before transferring to Creighton University, where she helped the Bluejays reach their first NCAA Tournament in 2010. She was a Second-Team All-MVC selection and led the team with 3.73 kills per set during her senior season.

Williams graduated magna cum laude from Creighton with a degree in Communications (Public Relations and Organization). A native of Swea City, Iowa, she and her husband Aaron have two sons: Sam and Levi.
