    Former Valparaiso standout Sarah Ohnemus is in her fifth season as assistant coach at Bradley, after joining the Braves coaching staff in the summer of 2003 and has coordinated Bradley’s recruiting efforts in addition to her practice and camp duties.  

    A four-time letterwinner at Valparaiso, Ohnemus was a team captain as a senior and graduated with honors in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations.

    While a member of the Crusaders squad, Ohnemus earned all-tournament honors at Valparaiso’s Popcorn Festival and was nominated for the Rebecca Caudill Award for leadership, positive attitude and great work ethic. 

    Ohnemus came to The Hilltop after serving as assistant varsity coach and substitute teacher at her alma mater, Waubonsie Valley High School in Aurora, Ill.  She also aided in the inaugural Heritage YMCA youth volleyball training and leagues.

    “Sarah has been an outstanding addition to our staff,” ninth-year Bradley head coach Scott Luster said.  “She has brought a love for the game and desire to excel in all areas of coaching the program.”

    An active member of the AVCA, Ohnemus also has coaching experience at the club level with DuPage Express Volleyball Club and has been a coach at the Great Lakes High Performance Camp and University of Illinois camps.

    “I have thoroughly enjoyed being involved with such a fine group of people and talented student-athletes,” Ohnemus said.  “I look forward to continuing to be a part of the success of Bradley Volleyball.”

    Familiar with the Chicagoland area, Ohnemus is a native of Naperville, Ill., and is an active member of the USAV AA teams and continues to compete in outdoor tournaments.

                The former Sarah Slowik, she is married to Bradley Head Athletic Trainer Marcus Ohnemus.
