William Tatge, who previously worked as an assistant at Georgia State, was named an assistant coach at Bradley in February 2023.
Prior to his time at Georgia State, Tatge served as an interim coach at the University of Iowa.
Tatge joined the Hawkeye staff with over 10 years of coaching experience, having spent time at Ohio State, Division II Lees-McRae College, NAIA Montreat College, Durham University in the United Kingdom and Division III Bethany Lutheran College, along with spending time coaching at the club and high school level.
At Ohio State, Tatge served as a volunteer assistant coach for Geoff Carlston in 2018. Before landing in Columbus, he spend three season as the head coach at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, N.C., leading the Bobcats to postseason appearances in back to back seasons (2015 & 2016).
Tatge coached multiple student-athletes to top-10 statistical marks in program history. At Lees-McRae, he also served as an assistant coach for the men's volleyball team.
Tatge spent two years at NAIA Montreat College in Montreat, N.C., as an assistant coach where he was named the 2014 AVCA Northeast Region Assistant Coach of the year and Appalachian Athletic Conference Assistant Coach of the Year.
He also spent time as the head men's and assistant women's volleyball coach at Durham University in Durham, England, United Kingdom. Tatge's collegiate coaching career began at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, MN, in 2010.
Before getting into the world of coaching college volleyball, Tatge spent time coaching club volleyball through Minnesota State for the Omeja Renegades, a 17s elite squad. He also worked at Maple River High School in Mapleton, MN, and for the Maple River Eages Junior Olympic volleyball program.
Tatge played right side for the club volleyball team at Indiana University during his undergrad and played as a setter/right-side hitter for Durham University during postgraduate studies. Tatge also played internationally in the English National League for Team Northumbria.
Tate, a native of Lowell, IN, receieved a master's degree in management from Durham University Business School, a top 75 globally recognized program. He also holds a bachelor's in history with a minor in coaching and business administration. He is USAV Cap 1 and IMPACT certified.
