Sidelined for most of the season due to an injury, she appeared in three matches … Played in three of the final five matches of the season after missing the first 24 contests of the year … Had her only dig of 2016 in her debut against Wichita State … Saw action in three matches as a defensive specialist
2015 (REDSHIRT)
Played in the first two matches of the year before a season-ending concussion … Had 12 digs and two aces in the victory against Youngstown State … Will seek a medical hardship.
2014 (SOPHOMORE)
Played primarily as a defensive specialist, but also saw time as an outside hitter … Started 21 matches … Ranked second on the team with 258 digs and a 2.58 digs-per-set average … Increased that average to 3.08 digs per set in MVC play … Had double digit digs in 12 matches … Led the team in digs four times and paced the squad in aces in six outings … Had four consecutive outings with 10 or more digs in the non-conference portion of the schedule, including 16 at Western Illinois … Averaged 5.00 digs per set in the two matchups with Northern Iowa, collecting a career-best 20 digs in the home match (three sets) … Posted 5.43 digs per set in the final two home matches of the year.
2013 (FRESHMAN)
Split time with Jessica Teel at setter, starting 20 matches … One of three players to appear in all 109 sets … Led the team with 568 assists and her season total ranks eighth among Bradley freshman marks … First freshman in school history with 500 assists, 30 aces and 225 or more digs … Was second in the MVC in aces per set (0.32) … First freshman to lead the team in aces since Skylar Lesan in 2009 … Her 35 aces also ranked eighth among Bradley freshman records … Ranked fourth on the team in digs and digs per set (2.09) …Increased her assist average to a team-best 5.31 in MVC play … Was fourth on the team in digs in Valley action … Had seven double-doubles, including both games against I-74 rival Illinois State … Tallied a season-best 38 assists Indiana State … Served up four aces in two different matches.

Holds Fulton High School’s career records for assists (2,027), aces (278) and digs (827) ... Also ranked third in school history with 448 career kills at the end of her prep career ... Three-time all-state pick, she helped the Hornets to an Elite Eight appearance in 2010 as a sophomore, setting school season record for assists (596) and aces (86) ... Was a three-time team captain ... Academic all-state honoree ... Three-time first-team all-district ... Helped Fulton to four consecutive district titles and a four-time first-team all-conference selection.

The daughter of Robert and Janice Hoerber, Melissa was born in Fulton, Mo. ... Has two older sisters: Jennifer and Michelle ... Civil Engineering major ... Her mother Janice played volleyball at William Woods University.
