Before being hired at Vanderbilt, Mulzer served as an operations assistant at Florida State University where she played a large role in the Seminoles’ recruiting efforts, signing a cohort of freshman and transfer student-athletes. With Mulzer’s guidance, the Florida State women’s track and field team earned a top-four finish at the ACC Outdoor Championships. Mulzer assisted in coaching an All-American at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 5000m.

As a student-athlete, Mulzer competed at Indiana for five years and at Ohio State for one year as a graduate student. She was a part of the Big Ten Championship team at Ohio State in 2022.
