Braves Fall In Three At Wichita State

WICHITA, Kan. -- Junior Lindsay Stalzer had a match-high 11 kills but no other Bradley player managed more than three kills on the night as league-leading Wichita State swept the Braves 30-20, 30-14, 30-13, Friday in Missouri Valley Conference volleyball action in Wichita, Kan. Stalzer finished with a match-best 11 kills in the outing, but the Braves managed to hit just .045 on the night, compared to a .481 hitting percentage for the Shockers. Freshman Jenna Harrison made her first career start and finished with three kills and a .400 attack percentage. Junior Ashley Vance added 19 assists and one service ace in the losing effort as Bradley fell to 7-16 overall, 1-11 in conference play.

Sara Younes had eight kills and seven aces to help lead the Shockers, as Wichita State totalled 11 aces in the match. Cori Meyer had a team-high 10 kills and hit at a .429 clip for the Shockers. Wichita State improved its record to 16-5 overall, 11-1 in the Valley.

Bradley returns to action Saturday at defending regular-season Valley champion Southwest Missouri State. First serve in Springfield, Mo., is scheduled for 7 p.m.
