MACOMB, Ill. -- Bradley nearly ended Western Illinois' 41-game home winning streak, but defending Mid-Continent Conference Player of the Year Zane Teilane's free throws with less than seven seconds to play, helped seal a 57-54 Westerwinds victory Wednesday night at Western Hall.

The Braves (2-3 overall) dominated the glass, outrebounding Western Illinois 44-30 and had three shots to tie or take the lead in the final 45 seconds of play. Teilane's free throws with less than seven seconds to play provided the final margin of victory for the Westerwinds.

Sophomore Devyn Flanagan and junior Amy Peters combined to score 15 points to help key a 21-4 Bradley run, helping the Braves grab a 21-8 lead with 10:30 to play before halftime. Bradley led 28-17 following a Kelly Krumwiede three-point play, but the Westerwinds held the Braves scoreless for the next 4:08 before Peters connected on her third three-pointer of the game.

Western Illinois went on an 11-0 run during Bradley's drought to pull even with Bradley at 28-28. Peters three pointer with just under one minute in the period, put the Braves back on top at 31-28 at the half.

The Braves held a 40-38 lead after Jen Brown hit a three-pointer with 14:28 to play, but Bradley went scoreless over the next 6:39 as Western Illinois went on a 7-0 spurt to grab a 45-40 lead. Bradley cut the WIU lead to one point (47-46) on a Brown three-pointer with 6:03 remaining and eventually tied the game at 52-52 on a pair of free throws by Erika Nelson.

Laura Reeves hit her fourth three-pointer of the evening at 1:22 to give the Westerwinds a 55-52 advantage. Bradley trailed 55-54 with 1:09 on the clock following a pair of Nelson free throws. The Braves got the ball back with 45 seconds to play and down one point. Brown grabbed one of the Braves 21 offensive boards with 31.4 seconds left.

Devyn Flanagan's shot with just over seconds to play rimmed out and Zane Teilane corralled one of her game-high 16 rebounds for the Westerwinds. Teilane made both of her free throws with 6.2 seconds left to push the WIU lead to 57-54. Brown's last second three-pointer was short, as the Westerwinds improved to 4-1 and extended their home court win streak to 42 games.

Peters led the Braves with team highs of 13 points and eight rebounds. Bradley shot a season low 30 percent from the field, including 17.6 percent in the second half (6-for-34). The Braves owned a 20-5 advantage in second chance points, but committed 20 turnovers on the night.

Teilane led all players with game highs of 22 points, 16 rebounds, six assists and five blocked shots. Western Illinois (4-1 overall) shot 40.9 percent from the field and had a 27-13 edge in points off turnovers.

Bradley closes out its season-long four-game road swing Friday with a 7:05 p.m. contest at Loyola.
