OMAHA, Neb. -- For the second day in a row, host Creighton (22-11, 8-2) earned a 4-2 Missouri Valley Conference baseball victory against Bradley (15-14, 2-6) Saturday afternoon at the Creighton Sports Complex.

Bradley sophomore right-hander Collin Brennan once again was the tough-luck loser for the Braves Saturday, falling to 1-4 on the season despite allowing three runs on five hits and striking out nine in his 6.0 innings of work.  Through the first three weeks of Bradley's Valley schedule, the Braves have scored a total of four runs in Brennan's three Saturday starts.  Creighton starter Zak Moore improved to 2-1 by holding Bradley to two runs on two hits and striking out six in his 5.1 innings.  Pat Venditte earned his third save by tossing 3.2 innings of scoreless relief.

Creighton chipped away at Brennan, scoring single runs in the second, third and fourth innings to take a 3-0 lead.  Freshman leftfielder T.J. Roemmich put the Bluejays on the board with his first career home run with two outs in the second.  First baseman Darrin Ruf added an RBI single in the third and shortstop Ryan Urzendowski came through with a run-scoring single in the fourth.\

Bradley plated its two runs in the top of the sixth, a rally that started when Moore lost his control after getting the first out of the inning.  After plunking Paul Rice with a pitch, Moore's day came to an end after walking Dan Brewer.  Venditte immediatly uncorked a wild pitch, allowing the Braves to put runners at second and third with one out.  Ryan Curry brought home Rice with Bradley's first run with a sacrifice fly and Ryan Eigsti followed with a run-scoring single to pull the Braves within 3-2.  Colby Luttrell fouled out, however, to end the inning.

Bradley's attempt to the tie the game in the top of the third was thrwarted when Roemmich threw out Mike Millan at the plate when he tried to score from second on Peter Malinowski's pinch-hit single.

The Bluejays gained their insurance run in the bottom of the seventh in unearned fashion.  Bradley reliever Jon Goebel began his outing by hitting Chad Ogden with a pitch.  Chris Gradoville moved Ogden to second with a sacrifice bunt.  When Ogden tried to take third on Ruf's fly ball, center fielder Justin Carr threw wildly, allowing Ogden to come home for a 4-2 Creighton lead.

Bradley had one more attempt at a rally, as Eigsti started the ninth with a double to left field.  The Braves, however, followed with a pop out and two ground outs to end the game.
