PEORIA, Ill. -- Led by six players who earned places on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll, the Bradley men's basketball team enjoyed a program-best semester in the classroom during the 2008 Fall Semester, according to the calculation of student-athlete grades following the just completed grading period.
The athletic department has records for student-athlete semester grade point averages going back to 1986 and the marks recorded by the men's basketball team's 16 rostered players are the program's best during the last 43 semester grading periods.
The Bradley Athletic Director's Honor Roll recognizes those student-athletes who post a minimum 3.0 semester grade point average (4.0 scale) during each semester during the academic year. The following men's basketball players earned a spot on the Honor Roll for the 2008 Fall Semester: Taylor Brown, Dodie Dunson, Ned Goertzen, Brian Lavin, Sam Maniscalco and Ryan Phillips. Brown, Dunson and Goertzen all landed on the Honor Roll following their first semester at Bradley, while Maniscalco (three) and Phillips (five) have made the Honor Roll during every semester they have been at Bradley.
The 2008 Fall Semester came to an end Dec. 17 with the completion of final exams. The Braves will be able to focus solely on basketball for the next seven games until the 2009 Spring Semester begins Jan. 21.
