Long Stay in Wichita

?   Bradley is in for a long stay in Wichita, Kan., as the Braves will visit nationally-ranked Wichita State for a three-game Missouri Valley Conference series starting Thursday, then will remain in Wichita for the 2008 State Farm MVC Tournament May 21-24 at Eck Stadium.

?   Bradley became the sixth team to qualify for the six-team MVC Tournament by earning an 11-4 win Sunday evening versus Northern Iowa.

?   Bradley now has qualified for the MVC Tournament for a fourth consecutive year, the team's longest postseason streak since a seven-year run from 1990 to 1996.

Kalmer Owns One-Half

?   When Bradley salvaged the final game of this past weekend's Valley series versus UNI with an 11-4 win, Braves head coach Dewey Kalmer achieved yet another milestone.

?   In his 29th year as Bradley's head coach, Kalmer now owns an 842-767-4 record with the Braves, giving him exactly one half of Bradley's 1,684 wins in the 108-year history of the program.

?   Kalmer becomes the second active Bradley head coach to win at least 50 percent of his program's all-time games:  13th-year soccer head coach Jim DeRose boasts 73.7 percent of Bradley's all-time wins on the soccer pitch.

Bradley-Wichita State Series

?   Wichita State owns a 76-24 lead in the all-time series versus Bradley, which dates back to the 1978 season.

?   The Shockers have been particularly dominant at home, where Wichita State owns a 47-8 all-time series advantage.

?   Entering this week's 3-game set at Eck Stadium, Wichita State has won 21 consecutive home games versus the Braves, a streak that began after Bradley eliminated the Shockers from the MVC Tournament with an 18-11 win May 17, 1996.

Jensen Stays Perfect

?   Junior right-hander Kori Jensen took his closer role to the extreme Sunday by throwing 99 pitches over the final 6.2 innings in Bradley's 11-4 win against UNI.

?   Jensen entered the game with one out in the third inning and the potential tying run at the plate.

?   He worked out of the third without allowing a run then finished his 6.2 innings by allowing two runs on six hits with no walks and a career-best eight strikeouts.

?   Already the school single-season record holder with seven saves, Jensen ran his record to 5-0.

One Win For Even Season

?   If Bradley manages one win this week at Wichita State, the Braves will secure at least a .500 season for the second consecutive season and the fourth time in five years.

Offensive Setup

?   Four of the top six hitters in conference play will square off this week at Wichita State.

?   Bradley junior outfielders Dan Brewer (.412) and Colby Luttrell (.389) are the fifth- and sixth-ranked hitters, respectively, through 21 Valley games.

?   Meanwhile, Wichita State's Andy Dirks (.455) is first and Connor Gillaspie (.421) is fourth.

Three Is Enough

?   When Bradley downed UNI 11-4 Sunday, the Braves improved to 24-11 this season when scoring at least three runs.

?   Unfortunately for the Braves, Bradley has been held to fewer than three runs 14 times, including Friday's 4-2 loss to the Panthers.

?   Bradley is 2-12 when scoring fewer than three.

Three-Four Punch

?   The combination of No. 3 hitter Dan Brewer and cleanup hitter Colby Luttrell has become a productive pairing for the Braves.

?   After successfully moving Brewer to the leadoff position last season, the Braves experimented with the same move again for most of March.

?   Since moving Brewer back in front of Luttrell in the No. 3 spot March 30 at Indiana State, however, the Braves are 16-12 and the duo has combined to hit .391 with 47 runs scored and 54 RBI's in the last 28 games.

The Last 24 Games (16-12)

Dan Brewer      .402 (41-102)  30 Runs  21 RBI's
Colby Luttrell  .381 (40-105)  17 Runs  33 RBI's
