PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore forward Taylor Brown (Atlanta, Ga./Dunwoody) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping the Bradley Men's Basketball team to a 2-1 record last week.
Brown was named to the HoopTV Las Vegas Invitational all-tournament team after averaging 17 points and seven rebounds per game last week. He opened the week with a 19-point, 10-rebound effort in the Braves' home win against Presbyterian. Brown scored a career-best 21 points against Oklahoma State Friday and followed it up with 12 points and seven rebounds to help Bradley to a 72-68 victory against 20th-ranked Illinois. A studio art photography major, Brown owns a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Brown and the Braves return to action tonight when they take on Northern Illinois at 7:05 p.m. in DeKalb, Ill.
