Warner and Bradley starter Katie Dennis (Gilbert, Ariz./Mesquite) both got off to good starts, with no one reaching base until ISU's Lauren Kellar had a one-out double to right center in the top of the third inning.  The Redbirds (32-16 overall, 19-5 MVC) scored the game's first run when Jhavon Hamilton followed with an RBI single down the right field line to give Illinois State at 1-0 lead.

The Braves (15-34 overall, 5-21) got their first base runner of the contest in the bottom half of the inning on a one-out chopper to third base by senior Megan O'Malley (Arlington Heights, Ill./Buffalo Grove), but Bradley would come up empty in the inning.  O'Malley's third inning single was Bradley's only hit until freshman Taylor Cox (Loveland, Colo./Andover [Kan.]) collected her sixth hit of the series with a two-out sixth inning single.

Illinois State added three runs in the top of the fifth to push its lead to 4-0.  Kara Nelson scored from first base on a Niki Stansell single and BU error.  Elizabeth Kay followed a walk to Abby Olson with a two-out, two-run double to left center.

Warner retired 10 consecutive hitters after surrendering the single in the third, before giving up a hit with two outs in the bottom of the sixth to Cox.  Bradley was unable to capitalize, however, and Illinois State struck for two more runs in the top of the seventh inning.  Nelson led off the inning with a single and Stansell followed with a double.  Olson drove both runners in with a single down the left field line to push ISU's advantage to 6-0.

Senior Lauren Meister (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South) collected a hit in the final at bat of her career, belting a two-out single to right center in the seventh; but Warner retired the next batter she faced to close out a three-hit shutout as Illinois State completed the series sweep with a 6-0 victory.

Dennis took the loss for Bradley, finishing the year with a 5-12 record.  She struck out four and walked two in 6.1 innings.  Warner scattered three hits and walked none in the complete game, three-hitter to improve to 14-8.  Illinois State locked up the #2 seed in next week's State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament with the victory. 

Senior Jacqueline Vitale (Indian Head Park, Ill./Lyons Township) went 0-for-3 in the final game of her career as she had an eight-game hit streak snapped.

The contest marked the final game for Bradley seniors Amanda Clack (Hillsboro, Mo./Hillsboro), Meister, Janay Mitchell (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove South), O'Malley, Vitale and Lindsay Watkins (Hopedale, Ill./Olympia/Parkland).
