PHOENIX, Ariz. - With five appearances on ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays of the Day to his credit during his two-year Bradley career, former Braves swingman Chris Roberts (Fort Worth, Texas/Dunbar H.S.) was selected in the fourth-annual Harlem Globetrotters Draft today.

According to a Tuesday morning release from the Globetrotters, Roberts will be invited to a fall training camp to vie for the honor of joining the organization for its 85th consecutive season of touring the world.

Sponsored by Campbell Soup Company, Spalding, Howard Johnson Hotels and America's Best Contacts and Eyeglasses, the Original Harlem Globetrotters have played in 120 countries and territories on six continents, entertaining over 130 million fans and breaking down barriers between cultures, societies and people from all walks of life.  The Globetrotters are one of only six teams to be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.  For the latest news and information about the Harlem Globetrotters, and to purchase team merchandise, visit the team's official Web site: www.harlemglobetrotters.com.

If Roberts accepts the invitation to participate in the Harlem Globetrotters training camp and he makes the team, he would become the third former Brave to tour with the world's most famous basketball team.  Lawrence Wright toured with the Globetrotters during the 2006-07 season, while Bradley Hall-of-Famer Bobby Joe Mason played for the Globetrotters from 1962 to 1976, serving as team captain during his 14-year career.  Mason also was a member of the popular television series "Harlem Globetrotters Popcorn Machine."

In the release announcing Tuesday's draft, the Globetrotters noted Roberts' status as the runner-up in the 2010 College Slam Dunk Championship, as well as his four previous appearances on SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays, which included the longest, buzzer-beating shot in NCAA Division I postseason history, a 75-footer to knock off Oakland in the second round of the 2009 CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament at Carver Arena.

The selection of videos available from Roberts' bio page at BradleyBraves.com includes a look back at his 75-foot game-winner, as well as the submission video Bradley Athletics created for his entry into the 2010 College Slam Dunk Championship and a look at four of his Top 10 Plays highlights.
