EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- Bradley won the opening set 28-26, but Evansville rallied to take the next three sets and end the Braves hopes for the final spot in the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament with a 26-28, 25-22, 25-15, 25-14 victory Saturday at the Carson Center.

BU (12-16 overall, 5-13 MVC) needed a victory to keep its chances alive for the sixth and final spot in next week's MVC Tournament, but Evansville (14-19 overall, 4-14 MVC) rallied to win the final three sets and top Bradley in UE's final home match of the year.

Sophomore Amy Angelos (Waukegan, Ill./Waukegan) led BU with 13 kills, while sophomore Alise Tupuritis (Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West) added 12 kills to pace Bradley offensively.

Bradley trailed 24-22 in the first set, but Tupuritis followed an Angelos kill with back-to-back kills of her own to put BU ahead 25-24.  The Purple Aces pulled even at 26-26, before kills by Tupuritis and Angelos closed out a 28-26 Braves win.  The first set featured five lead changes and 15 ties.

Evansville pulled away down the stretch in the second set to even the match with a 25-22 victory.  BU trailed 23-21 after a block by Angelos and Tupuritis, before UE's Rachel TenHoor answered with a kill.  TenHoor followed another Bradley point with another kill to close out the 25-22 Evansville win.

The Purple Aces hit .345 in the third set and never trailed as Evansville took a two-sets-to-one lead in the match with a 25-15 third-set victory.

UE used a 9-2 run midway through the fourth set to take a 15-8 lead.  Evansville went on to close out the match with a 25-14 victory.

Angelos had 13 kills and Tupuritis finished with 12 kills to pace the Braves offensively.  Senior Rachelle Dejean (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) finished with a match-high 23 digs.  Freshman Madison Kamp (Orland Park, Ill./Chicago Christian) collected 44 assists and 13 digs for her eighth double-double of the year.  Kamp's eight double-doubles are the most for a BU player since Sam Black in 2011 (11) and most by a BU freshman since Marika Giguere in 2000 (14).

Brooke Maher led Evansville with 17 kills and 17 digs to pace UE.  Kaisa Nixon had 13 kills and six block assists, while hitting .542, while TenHoor hit .476 and collected 12 kills.  Ellen Sawin had 11 kills, 32 assists and seven digs, while attacking at a .529 clip.

Bradley finished with the 2011 season with the most wins since 2005 and BU's 5-13 league record was the best league mark since 2006.
