LAKELAND, Fla. - Bradley junior pitcher Jacob Booden (2-0) pitched seven strong innings and the Braves (9-4) used a bases-loaded balk in the sixth inning to plate the go-ahead run en route to their fifth consecutive victory, a 3-2 win against Massachusetts (1-5) at Henley Field in the RussMatt Baseball 2011 Central Florida Invitational.

Booden allowed both runs, one earned, by scattering four singles and no walks, while striking out five.  Sophomore Andy Johnson worked a perfect eighth inning and closer Justin Ziegler added a perfect ninth for his fifth save of the season.  Ziegler already has matched Bradley's 2010 team saves total and his five saves just 13 games into the season already has equaled the second-best season total in program history, two shy of Kori Jensen's record seven saves in 2008.

After UMass used a leadoff single, stolen base, ground ball and sacrifice fly to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, Bradley came back to tie the game in the bottom of the second.  First baseman Jerrod Eigsti was hit by a pitch to open the second, advanced two bases on a David Compitello sacrifice bunt and Jason Leblebijian infield single and scored on Bob Schuch's 2-out single.

The Minutemen again grabbed the lead, 2-1, in the fourth by taking advantage of a leadoff error, but the Braves battled back with two runs in the sixth.

Third baseman Rob Elliott started the game-winning rally with a leadoff double, the game's only extra-base hit.  Elliott took moved up on a passed ball, but was still at third with two outs before Eigsti brought him home with a single up the middle.  Two more singles by Compitello and Leblebijian loaded the bases, setting up the game-deciding balk.

Eigsti, Leblebijian and Schuch all finished 2-for-3 at the plate to pace Bradley's 9-hit attack.

The Braves will try for their sixth consecutive victory Monday when they take on Bucknell in a 10 a.m. contest at the RussMatt Baseball 2011 Central Florida Invitational.  Junior right-hander Patrick Flanagan (0-1) is expected to make his second start as a Brave Monday.
