Box Score WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - Bradley designated hitter Brad Kimball did not start Thursday's game versus North Dakota State at the RussMatt Baseball 2011 Central Florida Invitational, but he finished it with a walk-off single, lifting the Braves (10-6) to a 6-5 win against the Bisons (1-15) at Chain of Lakes Park.
Bradley snapped a brief, 2-game losing streak with its second walk-off victory of the season.
North Dakota State committed four of its five errors in the fifth inning, leading to a 3-run outburst that allowed the Braves to take a 5-3 lead. First baseman Jerrod Eigsti had an RBI double and scored during the inning.
The Bisons battled back, however, by scoring once in the sixth inning off Bradley starter John Nasshan, then tied the game in the top of the ninth against closer Justin Ziegler (1-1).
Third baseman Rob Elliott started Bradley's game-winning rally by drawing a 2-out walk. He stole second, and after left fielder Mike Tauchman was intentionally walked, Kimball delivered with a single to left center to end the game. Kimball entered the game in the seventh inning as a pinch-hitter for starting DH Josh Camalick.
Tauchman extended his hitting streak to a team- and career-best best nine games by going 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, an RBI, a run scored. Seven of the other eight hitters in the Bradley lineup picked up one base hit and the only Brave without a hit, second baseman David Compitello, walked and scored a run in the second inning.
Bradley has two games remaining in the RussMatt Baseball 2011 Central Florida Invitational, Friday morning versus Akron and Saturday morning versus Butler.
