CONWAY, S.C. -- Bradley used its most efficient offensive attack in over two years to post a convincing sweep of Gardner-Webb Saturday morning in the Braves final match at the Coastal Carolina Classic.  Scores in favor of BU were 25-22, 25-19, 25-11.

The Braves (6-3 overall) .341 attack percentage was the team's best since boasting a .368 hitting percentage against Coppin State on Sept. 5, 2009 and Bradley also served up seven aces in the three-set sweep of the Bulldogs.

Freshman Courtney Keefe (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) paced Bradley's attack with nine kills and eight digs, while sophomore Amy Angelos (Waukegan, Ill./Waukegan) had eight kills and attacked at a .500 clip.  Senior Megan Schmidt (Bloomington, Ill./Central Catholic) tallied seven kills on just nine swings for a .778 attack percentage and also had two aces to help the Braves to the victory.

The first set had four lead changes and 12 ties before Bradley made a late push.  Angelos broke up a 22-22 tie with a kill and a Gardner-Webb (2-6 overall) attack error was followed by a Schmidt kill as the Braves took the opening frame 25-22.  Keefe collected five of her match-high nine kills in the first set and Angelos was a perfect 4-for-4 on attack attempts.

Bradley hit .370 in the third set and pulled away down the stretch to post a 25-19 win.  Junior Madelyn Ervin (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy) had two kills during a 4-1 BU spurt to give the Braves a 23-18 advantage.  Angelos followed a Gardner-Webb kill with a kill to set up set point and a Bulldog attack error closed out the frame.

Schmidt had a pair of kills and two blocks during a 9-0 Bradley run to open the third set and the Braves never looked back, eventually building a 13-1 lead.  Senior Annie Cave (Easton, Ill./Illini Central) capped the 13-1 opening run with back-to-back aces.  Seven Bradley players recorded at least one kill in the third set and BU hit a blistering .429 in the final stanza.  The Bulldogs got no closer than 10 points down the stretch and finished with as many kills (7) as errors (7) in the closing set.

Freshman Madison Kamp (Orland Park, Ill./Chicago Christian) also helped highlight the victory with four kills, 26 assists and five digs.  Kamp and Angelos both earned all-tournament honors for the second straight week, helping Bradley to a 2-1 record.

Lauren Evans led Gardner-Webb with eight kills and setter Heather Feldman collected six kills, 24 assists and four digs to lead the Bulldogs.  Gardner-Webb hit just .089 in the contest.

Bradley returns to action Friday, opening Missouri Valley Conference play against Evansville with a 7 p.m. match at Renaissance Coliseum.
