WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - Western Michigan (6-7) pounded out 18 hits against three Bradley pitchers and rode a 5-run second inning to a 7-0 victory against the Braves (6-5) Saturday afternoon at Chain O' Lakes Park.

The loss in Bradley's second game at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational came one day after the Braves rapped out a season-high 17 hits and 29 total bases in a 12-4 win against Bowling Green.  Three Western Michigan pitchers limited Bradley to no runs on seven singles Saturday.

Broncos starter Steve Laudicina (1-1) did most of the work on the mound, scattering all seven hits over his 7.0 innings.  Relievers Patrick Borlick and David Brennan each were perfect in an inning of relief to close out the victory.

Bradley starter John Nasshan (2-2) dropped his second straight decision and was roughed up for six runs on 10 hits in 3.1 innings.

Western Michigan pushed across five runs in the second on the strength of seven hits in the inning.  Included in the middle of the second-inning outburst were three consecutive infield singles.  Bradley had scored first in seven consecutive games before Dan Shutes put the Broncos on the board with an RBI double.

Bradley will continue its RussMatt Central Florida Invitational Sunday with a 2 p.m. game against Yale at Henley Field in Lakeland.  Senior right-hander Justin Ziegler (0-1) is Sunday's scheduled starter.

NOTES:  Freshman centerfielder Max Murphy was 2-for-2 and drew a walk in his three plate appearances ... One of two Braves to start all 11 games so far this season, Murphy now leads the team with a .345 batting average and a .500 on-base percentage ... He also stole a base Saturday to claim a share of the team lead with three steals ... Sophomore catcher Austin Jarvis three out both WMU runners who tried to steal, making him 5-for-6 throwing out would-be base stealers in the first two games of the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational ... With his third-inning single, Rob Elliott hit safely for the 10th time in 11 games to start the season.
