CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -  Northern Iowa hit Bradley with a 22-2 outburst to open the game and never looked back en route to an 84-53 Missouri Valley Conference win Saturday afternoon at McLeod Center.

The Braves (10-7, 2-3 MVC) came into the game leading The Valley in 3-point shooting defense through the first four rounds of league play by limiting their first four MVC opponents to 4.0 treys per game on 25.5 percent shooting from behind the arc, but the Panthers (9-8, 2-3 MVC) buried 15-of-26 (.577) treys.  Marc Sonnen led the charge by draining 7-of-9 3-point tries for his game-high 21 points.

Sophomore guard Jalen Crawford led Bradley with a career-high 13 points, while Dyricus Simms-Edwards added 12 points.  Sonnen led six UNI players in double-figures.

After trailing by as many as 30 points, 41-11, in the first half, Bradley managed to slice its deficit to 14 points, 46-32, when Walt Lemon, Jr. scored inside with 15:49 remaining, but the Panthers quickly regained control.

After playing three of its last five games on the road, Bradley will start a 2-game home stand by hosting Southern Illinois Tuesday night at Carver Arena.  Tuesday's contest will be preceded by a Braves Club Gameday Luncheon, presented by Herget Bank and featuring head coaches Geno Ford and Barry Hinson, at the Renaissance Coliseum Basketball Performance Center.  Tickets are $20 for Braves Club members and $25 for the general public and may be purchased Monday by contacting the Braves Club Office at 309-677-2667.

NOTES:  Dyricus Simms-Edwards entered the game third nationally in steals per game (3.38) and second in steals-to-turnover ratio and improved both numbers with four steals against no turnovers.
