PEORIA, Ill. – Senior forward Tyshon Pickett (Passaic, N.J./Passaic/Dodge City [Kan.] C.C.) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after averaging 16.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in a pair of games last week.
Pickett opened the week with 13 points and eight rebounds in 33 minutes of action against IUPUI. Saturday at Milwaukee, he scored 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting in addition to collecting seven rebounds and a pair of steals. A sociology major, Pickett owns a 3.36 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Pickett and the Braves return to action Friday, Dec. 20 as they open play at the South Point Holiday Hoops Classic in Las Vegas, Nev., with a 7 p.m. (CST) game against Portland.
