DEKALB, Ill. – The Bradley Baseball team took out some recent frustration on Northern Illinois Tuesday, dominating at the plate and on the mound en route to a 19-0 win in seven innings at Ralph McKinzie Field.

Sophomore center fielder Max Murphy hit 2-run home runs in each of the first two innings and sophomore right-hander Stephen Toma allowed only two hits in 6.0 scoreless innings to highlight Wednesday's action for the Braves (12-19). Patrick Flanagan finished off the 2-hit shutout by pitching a scoreless seventh inning as Bradley ended a season-long, 6-game losing streak with its most-lopsided win against a NCAA Division I opponent since a 24-2 victory against Cornell March 18, 2006 in Florida.

Bradley set the tone in the first inning by hitting three home runs in the flame for a 7-0 lead before the Huskies had come to the plate. Murphy got the barrage started with his first 2-run homer of the day, while Paul Solka added a second 2-run blast and Curtiss Bunch added a 3-run shot.

While the Braves were scoring runs in six of the seven innings, Toma (2-2) evened his record by cruising through his six innings. The only hits he allowed both were in the third inning, a double and infield single to open the frame, but he kept the Huskies off the board by sandwiching a infield popout between a pair of strikeouts.

The Braves will remain on the road for their next three contests, all as part of a Missouri Valley Conference series this weekend at league preseason favorite Missouri State: Friday at 6 p.m. Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 o'clock at Hammons Field.
