SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Jarmar Gulley scored a game-high 19 points and Missouri State shot 70.6 percent from the field in the second half en route to a 74-61 Missouri Valley Conference men's basketball win against visiting Bradley (9-14, 4-6 MVC) Saturday afternoon at JQH Arena.
While Missouri State (15-7, 5-5 MVC) made 12-of-25 (.480) 3-point field goal attempts in the game, Bradley was just 12-of-33 (.364) from inside the arc. Though Bradley had a 12-0 advantage in second-chance points, Missouri State added to its 3-point dominance with a 22-16 paint scoring edge.
Walt Lemon, Jr. led four Braves in double-figures with 13 points while matching his career-best with eight assists. Omari Grier added 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting from 3-point range, while Tyshon Pickett scored 11 and Ka'Darryl Bell added 10. Austin Ruder scored 13 points, all in the final 9 minutes, for Missouri State, while Ron Mvouika completed the double-digit scoring with 10 points.
Bradley, which fell to 0-10 away from home this season, will return to action Thursday at Loyola Chicago in a 7 p.m. game that will be produced for viewing on ESPN3.
