Box Score PEORIA, Ill. - Dallas Baptist once again took advantage of Bradley's generosity to earn an 8-2 Missouri Valley Conference baseball win Saturday afternoon at Dozer Park.
Five Bradley errors contributed to four unearned runs, while Braves pitchers Stephen Toma (1-2) and Eric Scheuermann combined to walk seven and hit two DBU hitters. The Patriots (19-7, 2-0 MVC) used eight hits to push across two runs in the first, third, fourth and seventh innings.
Cy Sneed improved to 4-1 for Dallas Baptist by working the first eight innings. Sneed scattered six hits, allowed two runs, one earned, walked one and struck out five. Sneed retired 12 straight Bradley hitters after Evan Gruener singled in the fourth, a streak that was snapped by Max Murphy's 2-out walk in the eighth. Gruener's fourth-inning single was the last of Bradley's six hits.
The Braves (15-7, 1-4 MVC) will try to salvage the final game of the weekend series Sunday when the teams meet for a 1 p.m. first pitch at Dozer Park. All kids in eighth grade and under in attendance pregame will be allowed to take the field with the Braves for the playing of the national anthem.
