DAYTON, Ohio - Tyler Leffler hit a 3-run home run to cap a 5-run seventh inning as Bradley (8-2) continued its late-innings magic with a 5-1, come-from-behind win against Wright State (3-9) in the opening game of the UD/WSU Tournament Friday at Nischwitz Stadium.

Junior lefthander David Koll (1-1) and sophomore righty Peter Resnick combined on a 4-hitter, allowing just one unearned run with one walk and seven strikeouts.

Koll breezed through the first five innings, before Wright State finally broke through for an unearned run in the sixth on a 1-out triple and a 2-out error.

Wright State starter Travis Hissong used nine strikeouts through the first six innings to work his way out of several jams. The Braves left five runners in scoring position through the first six innings, before turning the tide in the seventh to rally for their seventh come-from-behind win of the year.

Centerfielder Isaac Smith started the rally with a 1-out single and second baseman Chris Godinez followed with his second double of the game to put runners at second and third. Freshman third baseman Spencer Gaa tied the game with an infield single, before right fielder Max Murphy drove home the go-ahead run with a RBI single to left. Leffler then gave Bradley some insurance by blasting his second home run of the year.

Koll worked around a 1-out walk in the seventh, before Resnick closed out the win. After giving up a leadoff single in the eighth, Resnick retired the final five batters he faced, including three by strikeout.

Bradley will continue its play in the UD/WSU Tournament by facing both weekend hosts Saturday: Dayton at noon (CST) and Wright State at 3 o'clock. Both games will be played at Wright State's Nischwitz Stadium.
