Box Score EVANSVILLE, Ind. - For the second straight day, Evansville rallied from an early deficit, earning a 5-4 win against Bradley (21-18, 4-10 MVC) Saturday afternoon at Braun Stadium.
The Braves scored single runs in each of the first three innings to build a 3-0 lead. Chris Godinez singled and later scored on a wild pitch in the first inning, Drew Carlile doubled and scored on an Isaac Smith sacrifice fly in the second and Spencer Gaa was hit by a pitch and scored on a Tyler Leffler single in the third.
Evansville pulled to within 3-2 on consecutive RBI singles in the third, then took the lead for good in the fourth on a Shain Showers 3-run home run.
Bradley pulled one run back in the sixth when Evan Gruener led off with a double and scored on Gaa's 2-out single, but the Braves could get no closer as they stranded five runners in the last four innings.
The teams will close out the weekend series with a 1 p.m. game Sunday at Braun Stadium.
