Bradley 7, Quinnipiac 6
Bradley 12, at Belmont 5

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - After pitching Bradley to its first win of the weekend Saturday, Elliot Ashbeck drove in five runs as the designated hitter Sunday, leading the Braves (11-2) to a 7-6 win versus Quinnipiac and a 12-5 win at Belmont at E.S. Rose Park.

Ashbeck hit a 3-run double to break open Sunday morning's first game against Quinnipiac, then added a 2-run home run in the fifth inning for a 5-0 lead against Belmont in Sunday's second game.

The Braves have won five straight overall and Bradley will return to action next weekend by visiting Mercer. The 3-game series will start Friday with a 6 p.m. EDT first pitch at Mercer's Claude Smith Field.

Bradley 7, Quinnipiac 6
Cameron Roegner delivered six strong innings in his first start of the season and freshman Jordan Fedro was impressive in his collegiate debut, before the Braves survived a precarious ninth inning for a 7-6 victory versus Quinnipiac to start Sunday's action.

In his first start since May 22, Roegner (1-0) allowed two runs on three hits with three walks in his 6.0 innings. Fedro made his collegiate debut to start the seventh inning and tossed 2.0 scoreless frames by working around one hit and one walk with one strikeout.

The Braves took a 7-2 lead to the ninth when things got interesting. Junior lefty Drew Peters started the ninth on the bump and immediately hit the first batter he faced. Peters was in position for the stray pitch to be meaningless after getting a fielder's choice and pop out from the next two hitters, but he was unable to get the third out. Another hit by pitch and walk loaded the bases before a run-scoring single made it 7-3.

A third hit by pitch made it 7-4 and brought closer Matt Dennis into action. Dennis walked the first two batters he faced to make it 7-6, before getting a strikeout to end the game and secure his fourth save of the year and second in as many days against the Cougars. More notably, the save was the 10th of the sophomore right-hander's career, matching the school record set by Jason Simmons from 1990-93.

Bradley finished with a 6-5 edge in hits. First baseman Paul Solka delivered a 2-out, 2-run double in the fourth to forge a 2-2 tie, while left fielder Evan Gruener hit a leadoff home run in the fifth to put the Braves on top for good. Designated hitter Elliot Ashbeck, who was the winning pitcher in Saturday's game versus Quinnipiac, came through with a 3-run double later in the fifth and third baseman Allan Beer plated Gruener with what proved to be the deciding run with a RBI single in the sixth.

Bradley 12, at Belmont 5
Brent Stong saw his scoreless streak reach 20.1 innings and the Bradley offense produced season-highs for runs scored and hits as the Braves completed their 4-0 weekend with a 12-5 victory Sunday afternoon at Belmont.

Stong improved to 3-0 by allowing four runs and scattering seven hits in 6.1 innings, while Stephen Toma recorded the final eight outs to earn his first career save. Stong struck out seven.

Designated hitter Elliot Ashbeck was 3-for-5 with a double, home run and two RBI's, while Chris Godinez (2-2), Paul Solka (2-4) and Carson Webber (2-4) all banged out two hits to highlight Bradley's 13-hit attack. Solka's RBI double in the seventh gave Bradley a 6-3 lead and proved to be the difference.
