Box Score PEORIA, Ill. - Five Saint Louis pitchers combined to allow just three Bradley hits and the visiting Billikens (18-10) rode a quick start to a 4-1 win against the host Braves (19-7) Tuesday night at Dozer Park.
Josh Bunselmeyer was 2-for-4 with a RBI double in the first inning that gave Saint Louis a 2-0 lead. The Billikens roughed up Bradley starter Jordan Fedro (2-1) for four runs, two earned, on four hits in the first two innings. The four Bradley relievers did not allow a run while limiting Saint Louis to three hits over the final 7.1 innings.
The Braves struck out 12 times against the five Saint Louis hurlers, however, contributing to nine runners left on base.
Bradley's only scoring came in the sixth inning when Isaac Smith drew a leadoff walk, stole second and scored on a Drew Carlile bases-loaded sacrifice fly. Smith reached base safely in three of his four plate appearances, walking twice and going 1-for-2 to raise his season batting average to .403.
Bradley will continue its first home stand of the season by hosting Robert Morris (Peoria) in a 6 p.m. game Friday at Dozer Park. Bradley Athletics and the Dozer Park concessions operators are partnering on a Friday Family Fun Pack, allowing fans to purchase four jumbo hot dogs and four jumbo fountain drinks for $25.
