WICHITA, Kan. – Due to weather conditions in the Wichita area, the MVC Baseball Championship title game will not be played Saturday and tentatively has been postponed to a 9:04 a.m. first pitch Sunday.

The game that features No. 1 seed Missouri State (44-10) and No. 3 seed Bradley (35-18) can be seen live on ESPN3.

Bradley has won its first three Missouri Valley Conference Baseball Championship games for just the second time (1971) in program history and the Braves are playing in the championship game for the first time since 1996 … After cruising to a 9-2 win against Evansville in the tournament's opening game Wednesday, Bradley pulled out a dramatic, 5-4 win Thursday against Indiana State when sophomore left fielder Evan Gruener launched a go-ahead, 2-out, 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning … The Braves got a career performance from fourth-year junior LHP Cameron Roegner Friday in a 3-1 win against #11 Dallas Baptist … Roegner limited the Patriots to one run on five hits in a career-best 8.0 innings and the Braves got the deciding run in the fourth inning when 3B Spencer Gaa scored from second base on a third strike wild pitch.

Last Title in 1968
Bradley has not won a Missouri Valley Conference postseason championship since 1968, when the Braves swept a home doubleheader against Tulsa in a best-of-three divisional playoff … Bradley has played in just four MVC tournament championship games since 1968, falling to Tulsa in 1971 (5-3) and 1972 (4-0), Illinois State (18-10) in 1994 and Missouri State (13-6) in 1996 … The Braves won Valley titles in 1950, 1956, 1959 and 1968, all in the best-of-three format between regular-season East and West division winners.

Four Straight MVC Postseason Wins
Bradley will be trying for a fourth straight MVC postseason win Saturday, a feat the Braves have accomplished just three other times … After sweeping Tulsa in a best-of-three format in 1968, the Braves started their next Valley postseason by winning their first three games of the 1971 tournament … Bradley also advanced out of the losers bracket to reach the championship game with four straight wins in 1972 and 1996.

NCAA Regionals Resume Update
Bradley's three wins to start the MVC Baseball Championship has given the Braves a small bump up to No. 19 in the RPI, as updated at warrennolan.com … Among the teams in the top 100 of the RPI, Bradley ranks in the top seven with 24 wins away from home (13-11 road, 11-1 neutral) … Bradley has played 14 games against six teams that have won regular-season conference championships this year and the Braves played 13 of those 14 games away from home … Bradley played 17 games against eight non-conference teams that won more than 30 games this season … Despite playing 15 of those 17 games away from home, Bradley went 10-7 against its 30-win non-conference competition … By eliminating Dallas Baptist Friday night, Bradley now has split four games against the nation's No. 3 RPI team with all four games being played away from home.

Godinez Extends Streaks
Bradley junior second baseman Chris Godinez began the week ranked 12th nationally with a .492 on-base percentage and he has reached safely in 7-of-13 (.538) plate appearances at the MVC Tournament … More notably, Godinez has extended his streak of consecutive games reaching base safely to 29 … Godinez, who set Bradley's single-season record with his 42nd base on balls Thursday night, did see his streak of 12 consecutive games with at least one walk come to an end during his 3-for-4 performance Friday night against Dallas Baptist.

Fresh Bullpen
As Bradley prepares for Saturday's championship game, the Braves have used just five pitchers through their first three MVC Tournament games … Bradley's three starters have eaten 24.0 innings – Elliot Ashbeck 8.0 Wednesday vs. Evansville; Brent Stong 6+ Thursday against Indiana State; and Cameron Roegner 8.0 Friday against Dallas Baptist … Freshman Allan Beer finished off Wednesday's 9-2 win against Evansville by pitching a scoreless ninth and closer Matt Dennis has completed each of the last two games with 4.0 innings of combined work.
