NCAA Tournament History
Bradley is making its seventh all-time appearance in the NCAA Baseball Championship, but its first as an at-large entry ... The Braves are making their first postseason appearance since 1968 ... Bradley is 5-12 all-time in NCAA postseason play, including 3-8 in the first weekend, having played all 11 of those games as part of the old District V Playoff that apparently matched the Missouri Valley Conference champion against the Big 8 Conference champion ... Bradley has dropped nine consecutive NCAA postseason games since its third-round win against Wyoming in the 1956 College World Series ... Friday's regional opener against Michigan will be Bradley's first neutral-site tournament game since its 8-3 loss to another Big 10 Conference team, Minnesota, June 12, 1956 in the fourth round of the College World Series ... Among its six previous NCAA Baseball Championship appearances, Bradley has twice reached Omaha for the College World Series - 1950 and 1956 ... Bradley was 0-2 in the 1950 CWS and 2-2 in 1956 ... Three members of the 1949-50 Bradley men's basketball team that played in both the NIT and NCAA Tournament championship games also played on Bradley's 1950 CWS squad ... The No. 1 pick in the 1951 NBA Draft, Gene “Squeaky” Melchiorre hit .327 for the 1950 baseball Braves ... Don Alford hit .356 in 1950 and posted a 5-6 pitching record in 86.1 innings, while averaging 3.3 points in 12 basketball games ... Jack Hills appeared in nine basketball games in 1949-50, but hit .306 in 31 baseball games during the 1950 CWS season.

Friday's regional opener will be the sixth all-time baseball meeting between Bradley and Michigan, but the first since the Wolverines took 2-of-3 games during the 1984 Jody Ramsey Tournament in Edinburg, Texas ... All five games in the series have been played at neutral settings as the teams also split two 1958 games in Orlando, Fla. ... Former Michigan player (1979-82) John Young was an assistant coach at Bradley from 1990-2003.

Louisville | Bradley leads 18-8

Bradley and Louisville are former Missouri Valley Conference rivals and the first 13 games in the series were played as league rivals from 1963-74 ... The Braves are 18-8 all-time against Louisville, but the Cardinals hold a slim 7-6 advantage in non-conference matchups ... Bradley is 6-6 all-time against the Cardinals in Louisville, where each of the last eight meetings have been played ... The teams have alternated wins in the last six meetings with Bradley victorious (7-3 in seven innings) in the most-recent meeting March 10, 1996 at Louisville.

Bradley won the only previous game against Morehead State, rolling to a 13-4 victory March 5, 2011 at the University of Tennessee ... Fifth-year junior RHP Steve Adkins was a member of that 2011 Bradley team, but did not appear in the game against the Eagles ... Bradley senior CF Isaac Smith and Morehead State sophomore C Jimmy Wright both graduated from Richmond, Ky., Madison Central High School and played baseball together going back as far as middle school ... Morehead State has two players from the Peoria area's Mid-Illini Conference - senior RHP Ryan Vansaghi (Pekin) and junior LHP Jared Holloman (Morton) - which also produced Bradley sophomore 3B Spencer Gaa (Metamora).

A Pair of Homecomings
A pair of Bradley Baseball team members with ties to Kentucky will enjoy a bit of a homecoming during the Louisville Regional ... Seventh-year Bradley head coach Elvis Dominguez joined the Braves from Eastern Kentucky University, where he was the head coach for the previous seven years from 2002-08 ... As a result of his time at EKU, Dominguez has plenty of history against both Louisville and Morehead State ... Dominguez was 1-12 against the Cardinals as the Eastern Kentucky head coach, but 15-6 against Morehead State ... Senior centerfielder Isaac Smith is from Richmond, Ky., and graduated from Madison Central High School ... Richmond also is home to Eastern Kentucky University and is located 100 miles southeast of Louisville.

Historic Season
Bradley's 35 wins are the most by the Braves since 1996 (40-22) and are tied for the fourth-most in a season in program history ... Bradley enters the Louisville Regional 16 games over .500 and the Braves peaked at plus 19 by winning the first two games of the April 24-26 series against Evansville ... At 29-10 overall following the April 25 win against Evansville, the Braves reached the fifth-best high-water mark during a season in the program's 115-year history ... Bradley has not been 20 games over .500 since the 1996 season.

Improving Trend
With at least two postseason games remaining and a 35-19 record to date, the Braves have long ago secured their first winning season since 2007 (32-21) ... The 2015 campaign is the most recent of Bradley's 15 all-time 30-win campaigns ... This 2015 season takes a recent trend under seventh-year head coach Elvis Dominguez to new heights ... Bradley now has improved its record from one season to the next in five of the last six years ... Bradley jumped from 17-32 (.347) in 2013 to 24-27 (.471) last season ... The current 11-win improvement is the second-best year-to-year jump in program history, second only to a 12-win jump from 1947 (18-6-1) to 1948 (30-5) ... The 18-win jump in two seasons from the 17-32 season in 2013 is the best two-year improvement in program history.

Winning Away From Home
As the NCAA Regionals begin, Bradley is tied for sixth nationally for the most wins away from home ... Bradley is 24-13 (.649) away from home this season, 13-11 in true road games and 11-2 on neutral diamonds ... Bradley's 24 wins away from home are one shy of equalling the single-season school record ... The 1987 Braves were 25-13 away from home (23-10 road, 2-3 neutral) and the 1994 Braves (25-16) matched that total by going 15-10 in road games and 10-6 at neutral sites ... In the last two years, Bradley is a combined 42-28 (.600) away from home and 42 of its 59 total wins (71.2 percent) the last two seasons have come away from Dozer Park.

Facing League Leaders
Not only has Bradley built its best record to date in decades, but the Braves have succeeded against tough competition ... Eight of Bradley's 14 NCAA Division I non-conference opponents finished among the top three in their respective league standings, including five conference regular-season champions ... Bradley played 12 of those 14 teams away from home ... Bradley is 5-6 against non-conference teams that won regular-season league titles.

RPI Talk
The Missouri Valley Conference boasts three teams among the nation's top 20 in the final regular-season Ratings Percentage Index: Dallas Baptist (2), Missouri State (7) and BRADLEY (19) ... The Valley joins the Southeastern Conference (4) and Atlantic Coast Conference (3) as the only three leagues with as many as three teams among the top 20 in the RPI.

Against The Field
Bradley is 6-7 so far this season against the NCAA Regionals 64-team field, including a 2-6 combined record against Missouri Valley Conference rivals and regional hosts Dallas Baptist (2-2) and Missouri State (0-4) ... The Braves swept a home-and-home series against Big 10 Conference runner-up Iowa and took 2-of-3 games at Southern Conference regular-season and tournament champion Mercer ... Bradley played all 13 of its games against the tourney field away from home, including 11 of the 13 as true road games.

The Valley Record
Bradley tied for third place in the Missouri Valley Conference, the sixth-rated RPI league in the country, with a 10-11 record ... The Braves, however, went 3-1 in the MVC Baseball Championship, giving Bradley a 13-12 record against Valley competition.

Fighting Childhood Cancer
While Bradley continues to play through its best season in nearly five decades, the Braves also are excelling in their efforts to fight childhood cancer ... Bradley has joined a college baseball movement by partnering with the Vs. Cancer Foundation to raise both funds and awareness in the fight against childhood cancer ... Vs. Cancer was founded by former University of North Carolina baseball player Chase Jones, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor during his collegiate playing career ... Junior pitcher Steve Adkins has spearheaded Bradley's efforts to raise funds for Vs. Cancer, with the proceeds to be shared equally with both the foundation and Children's Hospital of Illinois, and the Braves have generated more than $11,000 in online donations ... Following the March 28 game versus Southern Illinois, team members shaved their heads on the Dozer Park concourse to help raise awareness for the Vs. Cancer Foundation ...
