LAWRENCE, Kan. – Thunderstorms in the Lawrence, Kan., area postponed the first day of competition for the Bradley women's track & field team at the NCAA West Preliminary Thursday afternoon and has forced changes to the remainder of the NCAA West Prelim schedule.
Senior
Emily Delvo (Springfield, Ill./Sacred Heart Griffin) was slated to run in the 1,500 meters, while seniors
Caitlin Busch (Waterloo, Ill./Freeburg) and
Kristen Busch (Waterloo, Ill./Freeburg) were both scheduled to run in the 10,000 meters Thursday.
With the postponement of Thursday's scheduled competition the schedule for Friday and Saturday's action at the NCAA West Prelim has been changed.
The Busch twins will open Friday's competition for the Braves in the women's 10,000 meters at 8 a.m. In addition, seniors
Chase Coffey (Hanna City, Ill./Farmington),
Eric Delvo (Springfield, Ill./Sacred Heart Griffin) and
Haran Dunderdale (Grantham, England/Carres) will toe the line in the steeplechase for the Bradley men's track & field team Friday at 1:25 p.m.
Emily Delvo will have an extra day of rest with the women's 1,500 meters moved to Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The 1,500 meters will now be a national quarterfinal with the top two in each of the four heats and the next two best times advancing to the national semifinals.
Saturday's competition will also include the Busch twins in the 5,000 meters at 1:20 p.m. and sophomore
Michael Ward (Cardiff, South Wales/Llanishen) in the men's 5,000 meters at 2 p.m.
