Freshman Alec Hartman highlighted a meet where four members of the Bradley men's and women's track and field teams claimed individual titles, breaking a school record in the 600m run at the EIU Friday Night Special.

Hartman continued his outstanding rookie season, setting a Bradley record for the fourth time in five events that he has run this season. The freshman finished the 600m run in a time of 1:22.19, topping the previous school record of 1:22.9, set by Bill Goette in 1977. Hartman has also broken the program's 800m record twice this year and was part of the school's record-setting 4x800 relay team.

Sophomore Gabby Juarez highlighted the day for the BU women's team, winning the 3,000m run and setting the EIU Friday Night Special record. Running the event for the first time in her collegiate career, the sophomore posted a time of 10:06.71 to establish the new mark for the meet. Freshman Kirstin Oakley also topped the previous record of 10.10.75 (set by Melissa Schmidt of Illinois in 2011), posting a career-best time of 10:08.25 to place second. Sophomore Natalie Burant also posted a personal-best time of 10:27.13 to place third at the event.

Senior Rachel Sudbury also won the women's 800m run in a time of 2:20.30, while junior Taylor Floyd Mews claimed the men's mile run title for the second-straight year at Eastern Illinois, posting a career-best time of 4:13.76. Senior Steffen Uhrich placed right behind Floyd Mews with a personal-best finish of 4:16.05, while freshman David Rodriguez also broke his personal record by posting a time of 4:22.11.

Two additional BU women set PRs on Friday night with both Sam Lechowicz and Melody Mercado breaking their previous career bests in the mile run. Lechowicz posted a time of 5:18.98 to finish third in the event, while Mercado ran the mile in 5:29.05.

Friday marked the final regular-season meet of the indoor season for the Braves as the team now turns its attention toward the Missouri Valley Conference Championship next week. The two-day meet starts on Saturday on the campus of Northern Iowa.
