SPRINGFIELD, MO - Luke Shadid reached base in all four of his plate appearances, including his first career home run to lead off the contest, but Missouri State (17-9, 2-0 MVC) rode a 10-run fifth inning to a 13-3 Missouri Valley Conference baseball win against Bradley (10-14, 0-2 MVC) Saturday afternoon at Hammons Field.

Shadid gave the Braves a quick lead with his leadoff home run.  Spencer Gaa followed with a double and scored on Derek Bangert's RBI single, giving the Braves a 2-0 lead after the top of the first inning for the second game in a row.

Missouri State scored the next 12 runs, however, before Brendan Dougherty singles and scored on an Andy Shadid single in the sixth.  Jake Burger, who hit a walk-off home run in the 11th inning of Friday's 5-3 Missouri State win, bashed his 11th home run of the season in the sixth inning to invoke The Valley's 10-run rule after the Braves went scorelesss in the seventh.

Alex Gray (L, 0-1) suffered the loss for the Braves by surrendering four runs on four hits in his 4.1 innings.  

Luke Shadid, who singles in his final plate appearance Friday, has reached safely in five consecutive plate appearances by going 2-for-2 with a single in the second, a hit by pitch in the fourth and walk in the sixth Saturday.  Bangert led off the seventh with a single to finish 2-for-4.

The teams will conclude their 3-game weekend series with a 1 p.m. start Sunday at Hammons Field.
