PEORIA, IL - In its first visit to Peoria since 1934, Northwestern (12-20) scored twice each in the seventh and ninth innings to pull out a 6-2 road win against Bradley (13-17) Wednesday night at Dozer Park.

Alex Erro came through with a 2-out, 2-run double in the seventh inning to break a 2-2 tie and the Wildcats scored two more insurance runs in the ninth without the benefit of a hit.

Sophomore RHP Mitch Janssen (L 1-2) was the tough-luck loser for the Braves, despite turning in the longest outing of his Bradley career.  Janssen limited the Wildcats to three runs on four hits in 6+ innings, but the leadoff walk he issued in the seventh proved to be the deciding run.

Northwestern caught some early breaks by blooping in two hits in the first inning to score the game's first run.  The Wildcats pushed the lead to 2-0 in the fourth after Matt Hopfner started the frame with another bloop double down the right field line and scored on Joe Hoscheit's seeing-eye single up the middle.

Bradley pulled even in the home half of the fourth after Spencer Gaa legged out an infield single to start the inning.  Luke Mangieri followed with a RBI double and Andy Shadid added a run-scoring single later in the inning to forge the 2-2 tie.

Gaa paced Bradley's 7-hit attack by going 2-for-4, while Hopfner (2-4) and Hoscheit (2-3) combined for four of Northwestern's six hits.

Bradley returns to action this weekend by hosting outgoing Missouri Valley Conference rival Wichita State in a 3-game series at Dozer Park.  Friday night's series opener is slated for 6 o'clock.
