Game Recap: Baseball | | Bobby Parker, Associate AD for Communications
SPRINGFIELD, MO - Bradley plated the game's first run for the third time in as many games in the series, but Missouri State (18-9, 3-0 MVC) steadily pulled away for a 9-2 Missouri Valley Conference baseball win Sunday afternoon at Hammons Field.

The Bears outhit Bradley (10-15, 0-3 MVC), 12-4, to earn the sweep and hand Braves starting pitcher Cole Cook (L 6-1) his first loss in seven decisions this season.  Alex Jefferson's 2-run double in the second put Missouri State ahead for good.  Each of the first six batters in the Bears order reached base at least two times against Bradley's three pitchers.

Bradley catcher Ian Kristan finished 2-for-3 with a double and a hit by pitch.  The Braves started the game's scoring in the top of the second on Andy Shadid's infield, RBI single, but the Braves did not score again until the seventh when Kristan doubled and scored on consecutive groundouts by Andrew Ivelia and Brendan Dougherty.

After playing all of its first 21 NCAA Division I games away from home, Bradley will play 20 of its final 27 games at home, beginning with a Wednesday evening visit from Saint Louis.  Admission for the 6 p.m. game versus the
Billikens at Dozer Park will be free.
