Florida Trip Continues with Two Midweek Games

Braves visit #19 UCF Tuesday, Bradley Baseball's highest-ranked non-conference opponent since 1968

Spring Break In Florida
•  After salvaging the final game of the weekend series at Jacksonville, Bradley will continue its spring break trip to Florida with a pair of midweek games - Tuesday at #19 UCF and Wednesday at Webber International.
•  Bradley's spring break trip will conclude with games Friday and Saturday against UMass in the Russ Matt Central Florida Invitational, the final two games in a season-opening, 16-game road swing.
•  Bradley has built the best record in the Missouri Valley Conference to date while playing all of its 12 games away from home.
•  Ranked as high as No. 19 in this week's national polls, UCF becomes Bradley's highest-ranked non-conference opponent since 1968 when the Braves dropped both games of the NCAA District 5 Playoff to final No. 5 Oklahoma State.

Valley Non-Con Leader
•   Bringing a 9-3 record into its midweek games at UCF and Webber International, Bradley boasts the best winning percentage in the Missouri Valley Conference to date.
•  The 12-game start is Bradley's best since the Braves opened their 2015 NCAA Regional season with a 10-2 mark.
•  In the last 50 years, Bradley has won nine of its first 12 games in just eight other seasons and the Braves have finished with a winning record in seven of those eight years.

Milestones Trip
•   Now in the program's 118th all-time season, Bradley earned its 1,900th all-time victory Sunday at Jacksonville.
•  The 1,900 wins are second among the eight Missouri Valley Conference programs, trailing only Indiana State's 1,943 all-time wins.
•  Now in his 17th year as a collegiate head coach, Elvis Dominguez begins the week with 399 all-time victories.

New Calendar, New Results

•  Bradley completed the 2017 season with a 8-23 record away from home.
•  Through the first 12 games this year, Bradley has topped that win total away from home.
•  Heading into four more games in Florida this week, Bradley boasts a MVC-best 9-3 record, despite all 12 games being played away from home.
•  The Braves are 6-3 in true road games and 3-0 in neutral-site games to date this season.

NCAA Leaders
•  Through games of March 7,  six different Bradley players rank among the nation's top 50 in eight different statistical categories charted by the NCAA.
•  Most notably, Alex Gray is tied for first nationally with his 3-0 pitching W-L record.
•  Sophomore SS Luke Shadid is tied for thid nationally with his 0.44 sacrifices per game, while older brother, Andy Shadid, is tied for 39th with his .448 batting average.
•  As a team, Bradley ranks among the nation's top 50 in six different categories.
