IOWA CITY, IA –
Tyler Cropley hit a walkoff grand slam, giving host Iowa (13-9) the final blow in a back-and-forth, 4-hour marathon.  The Hawkeyes rallied for five runs in their final two at-bats to earn a 13-9 win against Bradley (12-6) Wednesday evening at Duane Banks Field.

In Bradley's first game in a week due to weather-related cancellations, the teams played through a steady rain through the middle of the rain and dropping temperatures while using 16 pitchers who combined to allow 22 runs on 27 hits, 18 walks and three hit batters.

Iowa used 10 pitchers with varying degrees of success, but closer Zach Daniels (3-1) came through in the clutch to earn the win.  After Bradley pushed across eight runs in the sixth (5) and seventh (3) innings to take a 9-8 lead, Daniels inherited a 2-on, 0 outs situation in the eighth.  He got out of the jam by striking out the first two batters he faced and went on to earn the win by fanning three in 2.0 shutout innings.

Five Bradley hitters banged out two hits each, led by Brendan Dougherty who was 2-for-2 with three walks and three runs scored in his five plate appearances.  Freshman catcher Keaton Rice was 2-for-3 with two walks and two RBI's, and Luke Mangieri was 2-for-5 with a walk and three RBI's.  Mangieri now has reached base safely at least three times in six consecutive games.

Cropley also hit two doubles and drove in five overall in his 3-for-5 performance.  One-time Bradley player Chris Whelan was 4-for-5 and Robert Neustrom was 3-for-5 as the top three hitters in the Iowa order combined to go 10-for-15 with a walk seven runs scored, seven RBI's.

Bradley will return to action by opening Missouri Valley Conference play with a 3-game weekend series at Valparaiso.  Valpo's first-ever Valley game is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start Friday at Emory G. Bauer Field.
