PEORIA, IL – Junior outfielder Andy Shadid (Peoria, IL/Notre Dame H.S.) earned three Bradley Baseball team awards, including the A.J. Robertson Most Valuable Player, according to the announcement of program's seven annual awards Tuesday.

Shadid was named Bradley's team MVP following a vote of the squad members.  The Missouri Valley Conference All-Defensive Team honoree also was voted the team's Kirby Puckett Gold Glove Award winner as Bradley's best defensive player.  He also collected the Rod Thompson Award for posting the team's best average, leading the 2018 Braves with a .326 average.

A third-year starter in centerfield Shadid finished the year with a team-best .516 slugging percentage by legging out 13 doubles and two triples to go along with six home runs.  The honorable mention All-Missouri Valley Conference outfielder finished the season by hitting .500 (8-16) during Bradley's four games at the 2018 MVC Baseball Championship with two doubles and two home runs.

In addition to Andy Shadid's trio of awards, younger brother Luke Shadid (Peoria, IL/Notre Dame H.S.) received the Troy Guidotti Hustle Award, Dan Bolt (Morton, IL/Morton H.S.) the Tim Trunk Most Improved Player, Boby Johnson (Miller, MO/Miller H.S.) the Mike Dunne Pitching Award and Ian Kristan (Mundelein, IL/Carmel Catholic H.S.) the Phil Kaiser Memorial Award.

Bradley's season ended last weekend after the Braves (32-19) reached the Bracket B championship round at the MVC Baseball Championship.  Led by the group of award winners, Bradley matched the best single-season turnaround in program history with a +12 improvement in its W-L record compared to the 2017 season (20-31) and finished third in The Valley regular-season standings for the third time in four years by winning a program-record eight MVC road games.
