PEORIA, Ill. -- Redshirt junior runner Will Anderson (Avon, Ind./Avon) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after winning the individual title at the 2018 Bradley Intercollegiate.

In his first race in two years, Anderson edged out teammate Michael Ward to win the 2018 Bradley Intercollegiate for his first career cross country title last Friday.  Anderson ran the 8K course in 24:59.5 to shave more than 26 seconds off his previous collegiate-best time on a warm afternoon at Detweiller Park.  His time was the eighth-fastest time by a Brave in the 32rd running of the meet, as he helped the Bradley men's cross country team to the title with a near-perfect 16 points.  An electrical engineering major, Anderson owns a perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Anderson and the Bradley men's cross country team are back in action Friday, September 28 at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational in Madison, Wis.
