Jake Hoffert Named Prairie Farms Bradley Athlete of the Month

Senior Jake Hoffert of the men's cross country team is the Prairie Farms Bradley Athlete of the Month, earning the honor after a fan vote for the month of October.

Hoffert led the Braves in two races during the month of October, earning Valley Male Athlete of the Week accolades after both of his meets. He started the month by placing 28th of 165 runners at Notre Dame's Joe Piane Invitational, which included 11 nationally-ranked schools. He then followed by finishing 59th of 230 runners at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, competing against 17 nationally-ranked teams. At Wisconsin, he clocked an 8K PR time of 24:22.1 – the eighth-best mark in school history.

The senior carried his strong month into November as he followed up with the individual title at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship during the first weekend of the month, while also helping the Braves to their fifth-straight team title.

Hoffert earned the Bradley Athlete of the Month accolades after a fan vote on the school's twitter account. He collected 35 percent of the vote to beat out Taylor Ledwein of women's golf team (34 percent), Walid Kherat of soccer (26 percent) and Bozaba Lojpur of the tennis team (five percent).
