KANSAS CITY, MO – For the first time since 2013, and the eighth time overall, Bradley Soccer landed three players on the all-region team, according to the reveal of the 2019 All-West Region by the United Soccer Coaches Monday morning.

Senior defender Walid Kherat (Peoria, IL/Richwoods HS) and junior forward Gerit Wintermeyer (Wiesbaden, Germany) both were selected for the All-West Region second team, while senior defender John Pollifrone (Fort Wayne, IN/Bishop Dwenger Catholic HS) was tabbed for the third team for the region consisting of NCAA Division I men's soccer programs in the Missouri Valley Conference, Summit League and West Coast Conference.

The trio of Braves helped Bradley to an 8-7-4 overall record, a third-place finish in the Missouri Valley Conference with a 5-3-2 league record and a seminfinal appearance in last month's MVC Men's Soccer Championship.  While regular-season champion paced the MVC schools with  five honorees, Bradley and Loyola Chicago both had three players receive All-West Region accolades, tied for third most in the region.

Wintermeyer was Bradley's leading scorer in 2019, finishing the season with nine goals, five game-winning goals and 19 points.  He led The Valley and ranks second in the West Region by averaging 3.68 shots per game.  His five game-winning goals equaled the third-best single-season total in program history.

The only returning player among Bradley's three honorees, Wintermeyer will enter his senior season in 2020 tied for fourth in program history with nine career game-winning goals, and ninth with 23 career goals and 53 career points.

Kherat and Pollifrone helped to anchor one of The Valley's stingiest defenses in 2019.  Led by Kherat and Pollifrone, the Braves allowed just 79 shots on goal in 19 games this season, an average of just 4.2 shots on target per game, as Bradley posted a 1.10 goals against average.  In the 10 regular-season conference games, Bradley allowed nine goals on just 38 shots on goal.
