May 1, 2019 officially has been declared Andy Shadid Day for Bradley Athletics. Earlier this morning, the Bradley Baseball senior centerfielder was announced as Bradley's COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the Bradley Athletics 2019 Spring recipient of the State Farm MVC Good Neighbor Award and a nominee for three Bradley Athletic annual awards – Joe Stowell Award, Carl Grose Service Award and Charles Orsborn Award – to be presented during Monday night's Kaboom! Awards ceremony.

The Missouri Valley Conference added to the list of recognition for Shadid Wednesday by shining the weekly Enterprise Bank MVC Scholar-Athlete Spotlight on him and Loyola Chicago softball player Brooke Wilson.

In order to qualify for the MVC Scholar-Athlete Spotlight, student-athletes must carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.20, completed at least one academic year at a Valley institution and must be at least a sophomore in academic standing. Shadid is Bradley's fourth-year starter in center field. He graduated in three years with his business degree in finance and now is pursuing a master's in business administration, sporting a 3.52 postgraduate GPA.
